Gummy Bear Man

Tonight Kevin and Ethan were in the living room working on a project together. When I went in there I was given a comic book that Kevin and three of his friends had written at school. Apparently, Kevin is the "publisher" which means it was his job to bring all the copies home and put them together like a comic book. So that is the project he and Ethan were working on. I am taking it a step further by "publishing" it online via my blog. Enjoy! (You will probably have to click on each picture to make them big enough to read.)

Valentines and my past

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope it was a happy one for all of you. Darren had to go out of town for part of the weekend so he surprised me on Thursday with half a dozen beautiful roses. I took a picture of them but blogger seems to be too busy to add it to this update. I got Darren 6 car wash passes. I think that men have an easier job on Valentines day than women do. Get a woman some flowers, chocolates or jewelry and she's set. But there really aren't any traditional Valentine gifts to give men. If any of you have any good ideas you can send them to me and I might use them next year.

Today I needed something to keep me occupied so I got out some old pictures and scanned them into the computer. I did it so I could put them on facebook but now I think I will do more and save them to a disc. It's good photo preservation. My mom has most of my pictures at her house but I do have a few in my book of remembrance.

SnowFEST 2009

Instead of watching the Superbowl I am updating my blog. (It's not even on at my house - GASP)
Yesterday the boys and I attended the annual Snowfest that the city puts on. Either Darren or I post on this every year but it's a fun Saturday event you can enjoy in the frosty winter.

This is Ethan after sledding down the hill the one and only time he did. He wouldn't turn around when I wanted to take his picture because he was mad. Apparently his sled slowed down halfway down the hill and the boy behind him slammed into his back. He told me that that boy was now his archenemy. We had to have a discussion about forgive and forget.

Kevin going down the hill.

Kevin with his sled.

Ethan bowling while Jacob watches. Each kid that bowled got a free pass to one of the bowling alleys. I guess we'll see if they actually get used. (We tend to collect things like that but never use them.)

The three boys on the wagon ride around the park. No, that's not snow on Kevin's coat. It's a gaping hole that needs to get fixed.

While we were waiting in line for bowling, Jacob was eating snow. When he started sharing with Ethan I had to take a picture. Then I realized he was getting the snow from where people had been walking and I had to put an end to it.

This is not snowfest but it is a wintry picture. Last year our windows looked like this a lot. This year they've only been like this a few times. It's been plenty cold this year just not as cold as last. This past week was the first day the schools got canceled this year and I'm pretty sure there were 2 or 3 days cancelled by Feb 1 last year.
