Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we decided to go up to Warm River Springs and have a picnicwith our friends, Jon and Kristi. Then Darren and Jon would stay and fish and the rest of us would go home. It turned out it was a very windy day but that didn't stop us. Our first stop was to feed the fish. You had to have a good throwing arm to combat the wind and to get the bread out far enough. Here are a few shots:

I tried to get a shot of Kristi, too, but it didn't work out very well.

After a pretty drive we got to our picnic spot.

The whole gang (except for me - I'm behind the camera:-)

Then it was time for a little fishing.

Darren helping Ethan fish

Everyone watching Kevin's close calls with fish biting but not hooking (or whatever the proper terminology is - I'm sure that wasn't correct)

The boys admiring Darren's small fish he caught.

While the others were fishing, Jake played in a puddle.

And the highlight of the trip for the boys was spotting a frog and talking Darren in to catching it. Back to his boyhood days of catching frogs.

Boy does that frog ever bring back memories of Tony Grove Lake up Logan Canyon when Darren, Mike, and Carrie were little. Darren filled cans full of frogs and couldn't figure out why we couldn't take them home!

The next time we come out I want Darren to teach me how to fly fish. I think the girls would like it too. Miss you guys.

It looks like you guys did have fun. All we did was work. The highlight of our kid's day was MaryAnn taking them to the park for 30 minutes.
