10K 2008

Today was my anual 10K race with the Teton Dam Marathon. It was a harder race this year than last year. If any of you are familiar with Rexburg, two of the miles in the middle of the race were up Millhollow road (which is a steep, long hill). My goal was to beat my time from last year but I took a few minutes longer this year because of the hill. At the awards ceremony, though, I was surprised to hear my name called out as second place in women 35-39, especially since I was 2/3 of the way back in the line of runners. But the older you get the less people your age run, so the better your chances are of winning a medal. In some of the groups 50 or older their were only two places because there were only two people running in that age group. Because we live in a college town, there are a lot of 18-30 year old runners.

Way to go, Susan! I'm proud of you! How come Tracie didn't run???

Tracie only ran the first year with me. Besides that, I think she said she was going to Utah.

I didn't realize you were running again this year. I don't think I could have made it though. I've been biking for my exercise. My running legs are way out of shape.

My sisters are weird. At least it makes me look popular with more comments. Anyone else want to try a new picture?

I think you need to try a new picture, Susan. Jacob's a lot bigger now. Ask Tracie. She knows how.

Congrats Susan. I was going to run but I forgot to set my alarm! (Kidding!)

You should take a break... tell Darren HE needs to mow the lawn!

Good going, Susan! You are such so determined--please share that quality, will you?!!! Regarding your photo, I know Jacob has gotten older, but I love that picture. (Pat C.)
